The title song "The Wizard" was performed by Right Said Fred and Anke Engelke (as her character Doris Dubinsky). However, after seeing the film on DVD, he agreed to appear in the sequel, Neues vom Wixxer. Joachim Fuchsberger was approached for a role but, after hearing the title, disgustedly declined. They start to investigate and suspect the Earl of Cockwood. Since the Wixxer killed Even Longer's partner Rather Short ( Thomas Heinze), a new partner is assigned: Very Long. Scotland Yard sends its – allegedly – best man, Chief Inspector Even Longer. To do that he arranges for the death of many of the current gangsters. At the wheel: The Wixxer, an evil gangster who wears a skull mask and wants to take over London's crime scene. At some point, a tourist couple from Bitterfeld gets lost in the woods and witnesses a murder: the Monk with the Whip gets overrun by a truck. Residing there is the Earl of Cockwood ( Thomas Fritsch), a notorious gangster. Hartmut Neugebauer voiced Edgar Wallace.The film begins at BlackWhite castle, one of the last castles in Black-and-white located in the United Kingdom.Michael Kessler played Bobby in the sequel Neues vom Wixxer (2007).Jan Hofer played the court reporter in the sequel Neues vom Wixxer (2007).Michael Habeck voiced Der Arsch mit den Ohren.At one point, "Der Frosch" excitedly shouts, "Applause! Applause!", a line which was used on Die Muppet Show in place of Kermit's English "Yaaaaaaaay." In Der Wixxer, the character becomes, literally, a masked frog, designed as a loose caricature of Kermit the Frog, and voiced by Andreas von der Meden, the primary German voice of Kermit. One of the original Wallace films was Der Frosch mit der Maske ( The Frog with the Mask), about a mysterious cloaked mastermind.
